Auction clearance rates have improved to levels last seen before interest rates began to rise, new data shows, as sellers reduce their expectations to get deals done in the market downturn. Although prices are still falling, the auction clearance rate has picked up for three months in a row and lifted above the 60 per cent mark.
Across the combined capitals, the October auction clearance rate rebounded to 61 per cent, the highest level since March, when it was 63.5 per cent, Domain’s latest auction report card shows.
Last week’s Sydney auction clearance rate was 67%. There were 422 properties listed for sale, 282 properties were sold, and 88 properties were withdrawn. Moreover, the total clearance rate for state of New South Wale last week was 56%.
According to Realestate.com.au, it was reported 1285 private sales in New South Wales over last week. 185 properties were sold at auction, while 221 were sold prior to auction.
