Week’s Key Focus
The deadline for the NSW $180 energy rebate is fast approaching. If you want to take advantage of this rebate, make sure to submit your application by June 16.
NSW Energy Minister Penny Sharpe highlighted that this rebate aims to alleviate financial pressure on low-income families, allowing them to allocate more funds to other essential expenses. Sharpe emphasized, “This rebate can help low-income families reduce their burden, enabling them to spend more on other important needs.”
Sharpe also mentioned that some rebate programs can save families between $120 and $221 on their annual electricity bills. Last year, around 400,000 families eligible for Family Tax Benefit A or B were able to apply for this rebate. To qualify, applicants need to have completed their most recent tax return.
Sharpe urged, “The family energy rebate provides real financial assistance to families struggling with living costs. I encourage all families to check their eligibility online and submit their applications before the June 16 deadline.”
NSW resident Rosh Veera shared her application experience: “I submitted my application on the family energy rebate website, filling out the form with my energy bill beside me.” The NSW government currently offers six energy-related rebate programs, with approximately 400,000 families eligible for the family energy rebate this year.
Please note that the application deadline is 11 PM on June 16. To save on your household energy costs, don’t miss this valuable opportunity and submit your application as soon as possible.
